T8

Tait Roelofs (AKA T8) is the quintessential multidisciplinary artist. He works very broadly, hopscotching between disparate practices, but a significant portion of his output is photographic or originates photographically. His latest series of silkscreens, Spaceboarders (2021), riffs on Buzz Aldrin’s iconic moon man pic as a metaphor for staying stoked in a quarantine bubble. An earlier series, Surfscapes (2017), takes screenshots from surf cams along the California coast as the basis for delightfully colorful landscapes.

T8 has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. His commercial work as a billboard painter has appeared on landmark buildings all over the United States. He works, surfs, and skates in Los Angeles.
