A SOLO EXHIBITION BY GINETTE LABOZ

We are pleased to announce the opening of “Reel Icons,” a vibrant debut solo exhibition by New York-based artist Ginette Laboz, on December 18th. The selection of works showcases Laboz’s striking reinterpretations of iconic movie scenes, rendered through an innovative approach to pointillism.

Using confectionary tools to apply meticulously placed appointments of her pigment, Laboz transforms beloved cinematic moments into textured realism brought into focus in her contemporary works that fuse nostalgia with inventive technique. Each painting captures the emotional pulse of its film reference while inviting viewers to explore the interplay of color, texture, and memory.

Shangri-la refers to a mythical Utopia, connoting a transcendental calm that exists within a bucolic setting. John Newsom's abundant compositions offer a visual complexity that exudes the bliss and wonder of Shangri-la to transport the viewer to an idyllic place.
