Donna Levinstone is a New York–born artist celebrated for her atmospheric pastel landscapes that explore light, memory, and the emotional power of the natural world. Often described as “landscapes of the soul,” her luminous skies, distant horizons, and bodies of water exist somewhere between realism and abstraction, capturing fleeting moments of beauty, stillness, and transformation.
Levinstone studied at SUNY Stony Brook and Pratt Institute and attended the Art Students League of New York. She has exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, with work held in numerous private, corporate, and public collections. Following September 11, 2001, she created a significant body of work responding to the events and their aftermath. Works from the series entered the collections of the Library of Congress, New-York Historical Society, and Museum of the City of New York, and her work was featured at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
Throughout her practice, Levinstone moves beyond representation to create immersive, meditative spaces. Through subtle shifts in color, tone, and atmosphere, her work invites reflection while capturing the quiet, transient beauty of a moment in time.
